Addictions of the Worst Kind

Just when I think there's nothing more addicting than blogging, I started watching this show. Which is starting right now as I type.

And which I must go watch. Immediately. Or risk having withdrawl convulsions of the worst kind.

I've even considered renting this and this just for old times sake.

P.S. I know he's a cheating bastard on the show, but he's just such a cute cheating bastard is the thing. Not that he's cuter than Husband or anything. Husband is by far the cutest man in my life...well, wait, Little Guy is the cutest man in my life, then Husband, and then Patrick Dempsey.

But I just want to be clear that I love Husband more than Patrick Dempsey. (Even when he's walking around naked eating Trix.)

Every time I see him I think of what a geek he was in Can't buy me love back in the 80s. And then I love hm just a little bit more.

I have Can't Buy Me Love on VHS from my high school years, and I broke it out a couple weekends ago (after my marathon catching up session of season 2 that just came out on DVD ~ I was a little late to the party so I had some homework) and he's just got something. Yeah he pulled off the nerd in CBML, but those eyes are just so mesmerizing on GA.

And Sandra Oh (Christina) is my new girl crush. Sometimes I wish I could just say everything that came to my mind. But I have too much of a guilty conscience.

But you know who my favorite character is? The Nazi. Probably the one no one thinks about at all. But I love her.

I don't really watch it, but I made the stupid move of starting to watch Heroes, 6 Degrees, and some other ridiculous drama that I can't even remember. Sigh. I think of it in terms of how many books i'm not reading instead.

Although he was not cheating he had left his wife for cheating on him with his best friend .... then when she showed up .... he tried to make the marriage work .... then he cheated!

I don't watch it, and I'm staying away from it like the plague because everyone else in the world seems hooked. Blogging is enough media crack for me, thank you very much.

But I will say that I am with Jennster on the McDreamy assessment. To me he seems sort of . . . I dunno. . . petite?

I wanted to BE Meredith last night ... Finn on one side, McDreamy on the other - all three of us naked and in bed. I love my husband as well, but come on!! I think even he would give me a pass on that one :)

I was on the I Hate Meredith train last season, too. She was such a weak character. Not a big fan of the new storyline, but I'm glad she seems to at least be able to sleep one night in her own bed without a man.

One last thing, I second the notion of Sandra Oh as my girl crush, too.

Ya...he is a bit fine. I like them a little 'badder' though. Like 'House' would make me messy with his verbal abuse and unshaven glory. Sick man sick....

Oh, the geek grew up to be such a hottie! I think Sandra Oh is my favorite character too. I can relate to her alot more than whiney Meredith. And oh to be in the middle of a McDreamy/Finn sandwich....

Hey, what about Dr. McSteamy!!! Whew, I get a little flushed just thinking about him coming out of the bathroom in the towel. No, wait. It's a hot flash. Nevermind.

Okay okay okay I'm getting the idea from the posts I've read the last two weeks that a lot of women out there like this show--maybe I ought to check it out as the entire Free World seems to be watching.

I love me some GA. But what's with everyone ending up at the bar? That part feels a little too Cheers for me.

And Patrick Dempsey was here in Seattle filming the show and I totally missed out on it. A prime picture-with-my-baby opportunity ruined.

I love Grey's Anatomy, but P.D. just doesn't ring my bell - however, in the opening scene, Meredith in bed with Chris O'Donnell AND Patrick Dempsey, I might go for that!

Mrs Chicky's comment is cracking me up right now.....

Umm...what was I going to say? Oh, yeah, I haven't fallen into watching this show. But. one of my friends likes it so much, she had he husband grow his hair out like Patrick Demsey just for her own private fantasy......hey, it works for them!

sadly, I can't join in on your current love-fest for the fella. however, I had a crush the size of Jon bon Jovi's head (he has a disproportionately bulbous head for his body size - seriously, it's creepy) on Senor P. Dempsey in the eighties, thanks to Can't Buy Me Love, etc. Oh, god, but he's hot in the last scene, when he's riding the lawn mower in a t-shirt, bronco hat and shit-kicker boots. so, so very hot.

sigh.

Andrea: I love the Nazi too. Great character.

Pendullum: you're not missing much. It's better not to be tempted with the fruit, ya know?

Mrs. Chicky: floss with his hair? LOL. That IS icky. But I'd do it.

I JUST TODAY ordered CBML from Amazon. I have loved Patrick Dempsey since backintheday, and only started watching Gray's Anatomy so I could look at him. Then the story and writing hooked me.
I'm allowed to leave my husband for him. Or John Cusack. But since PD's wife is expecting twins, he's probably out of the running.

I just started watching this season too and am smitten. To an addictive point that I am contemplating giving up TV cold turkey because it threatens to take over those few tiny hours I have a day left. But ooooh I could eat him up with a spoon!

That ain't Dick Clark--one of the best movie lines ever.

Grey's Anatomy is the one hour a week where I INSIST on not being disturbed. I look forward to it. I savor it (sometimes I TiVO it and wait a few days to make it last longer).

It's a problem--no 36 year old woman should have such a crush on an actor. I love my husband--but PD is on my "list"!

Love your next entry too. The hugs are the best. Wait until you start hearing...I love you mommy...for no reason. Nirvana!!

Oh I am so with you on this addiction - hooked MAJOR and yes, I care way too intensely about the characters on this show but screw it all, McDreamy is my reward for raising a toddler. Nuff said ;-)
