Shower

My husband is always asking me, "What do you do in the shower for so long??" His showers take approximately 1.5 minutes.

I know. It's not so green of me. But still, it really amazes me that he even has to ask. That he doesn't know what I'm doing. Standing still, amongst the soap slivers and half-empty bottles of shampoo, letting the water go from hot to warm to tepid.

Hearing nothing.

No crying.

No begging.

No fighting.

No tears.

No wants.

No needs.

No mommy.

Just me. And the rain.

Alone.

Alone.

Yes, yes, yes. Long showers and SILENCE go hand in hand.

Showers drown out the children as they scream from the other room. Love them!

In the end a couple extra cents for a longer shower totally worth it.

I just tell mine that it takes that long to shave. And I say let it rain.

I *knock on wood* have finally got the youngest trained to leave me alone in the shower. I had almost forgotten how sweet the shower really is.

AGREE! I love being alone in the shower. Before we had a kid, he used to think it was "romanitc" to shower together. It's not all that romanitc if he's hogging all the water, or if the water is as hot as he likes it (not as cool as I like it). Bless him, I think he finally noticed I really prefer to be by myself and he let it go without saying anything. He's kind of psychic sometimes.

Absolutely. If he is home and I get to shower I have to take the time. Because when he is not home and I make an attempt at it I WILL have one child in there with me yelling and another most likely screaming in the background.

This is so my green weakness as well...and I don't care who knows it. I love my showers for the same reasons...PEACE and QUIET...ALL BY MYSELF!
