It's a Very Good Thing that I Love this Man

You know what I was saying a few days back? Well, make that four weekends in a row.

Bastard.

Good thing I love him.

My face is in a grimace. I am a business trip widow. This is the frist weekend in 6 that Husband has been home - and he's gone the next three straight.

Like Dawn, mine is gone a lot on business, too. It's always the weekends when I'm hosting a slumber party for the oldest, and then the babies break out in fever, and then my son almost breaks his neck coming down the stairs... Look at me, turning your post into MY pity party! Yes, go shopping, girl!!

Do I sense a shopping spree in the works? After all, there ARE a lot of Memorial Day sales to be taken advantage of!

Dawn: wow, that is a tough schedule! I would say "that SUCKS" is a understatement!

Catherine: you've got a hubby away on the weekends too?! I say we all have a cyber pity party over at Amazon.com (online shopping is almost as good as the real thing, no?)

Carriebrett: good point--I really shouldn't let Memorial Day weekend go by without taking advantage of the sales

Chelle: I like how you think.

Cameo: spa, shopping AND a nap? You just described a perfect weekend...ahhhh...

K: I will just funnel the angry engery into planning my spa day :)

Major shopping. Definitely. Maybe a night at a luxury hotel sans other family members, with room service and and in-room massage. And bring home those terrycloth robes -- so what if they charge you for them?

oooh yes, in-room massage...I like how you people think!

I lived with someone for 6 years who was addicted to basketball. I tried for 2 years to get on the roundball train, but I just couldn't maintain the necessary momentum.

I mean, the season lasts SIX MONTHS and they play 3-4 games a week, each lasting three hours. It is like a stupid part-time job that pays nothing.

Then we got better cable and there were always games on...almost every night...sometimes two...

I used to dread the beginning of the season with a cold, dark fear.

Oh thank god that is over. Mr Stapler is a big baseball fan but he doesn't watch every game. He says "It's a long season - it doesn't matter if I miss games."

I'm telling you, leave him home alone with the Baby while you shop. Paybacks are a B-I-T-C-H! :)

Yes, yes, yes.

I JUST went through my own "it's lucky for him that I love him" moment.

I'm getting new shoes and a hairdo.

What are you getting?

The day: Friday.
The situation: My first day off from work in two months (seriously) not counting Mother's Day because half of that was spent packing to travel
The SigOth: golfing. 8am-4pm

Yep, I'm with you. Golf widows of the world unite.

I'm right there with you except my hubby is a video game addict. It's almost worse to see him in the house and still utterly useless.
