The Ultimate High

I've found it.

The ultimate high.

It's better than drugs.

Better than fame or money or seeing your name in print.

Better than sex or chocolate, or sex and chocolate.

Better than Starubucks Caramel Frappuccinos with whipped cream.

Better than a three-some with McDreamy and McVet.

Better than 1,000 comments on a blog post.

And it's free, and I have an unlimited supply.

My baby has started giving me hugs.

I love the hugs! You are so right, hugs are the ultimate high. Even better than a foursome with McDreamy, McSteamy and McVet. With chocolate.

Enjoy them!

I hear ya, the best drug ever! Just wait until baby starts saying "I love you". You will be as high as a kite. BTW, you look so young and skinny. If I didn't like you I would hate you!

What a great pic! And the hugs get even better as they get older. And then words start going with them, like, "Mommy, I love your face!"

Oooh, I cannot wait to hear him say "I love you" AND call me "mommy" AND give me a hug! Oy, motherhood!

And to those who said I look young and skinny, you are so sweet, but I should tell you that I like to use a body double for pictures in my blog posts.

Hugs are priceless!

My four-year-old still loves to climb in bed with me in the morning and cuddle (when I'm not working). But on the days I have off, it almost makes our time more special because it isn't an everyday occurence.

Get all the hugs you can - I'm told they stop from about age 11 - 25 :)

The only thing that can pull me out of a daydream with McDreamy, McSteamy and McVet is the sound of my son's voice saying, "I wanna hold you, Mama."

There is nothing like it. You are so right.

My son, at about 4 1/2 years old, told me one night as I kissed him before bedtime:

"Do not kiss me ever again. Not on the day I die, not on the day before I die."

I sneaked in some sideways hugs and snatched a few quick kisses on the top of his head in the next few years but it has been a loooooooong time since I got a good hug out of him. Now, I think my kid is an extreme example but soak up all the lovin' you can while you can, MotR!

(I do still have a huggy little girl who I am quite thankful for!)

P.S. This is a TOP SECRET story everyone. My son will not be happy when if he ever realizes I told the entire blog'verse that story! ;)

if I didn't adore you quite as much as I do, I might admit to being a wee bit jealous of the hugging.

but you prolly guessed I might say something of the sort.

I'm so goddamn predictable. how do you stand me? gah.

but the photo, minus my jealousy, is swoon-licious.

I have to agree, there is nothing better in the whole world, until he starts saying I love you without you saying it first. I can't decide which made me cry more, lol.

Awwww...I wish I knew where I could nominate you for the "cutest blogging moment." this is too sweet.

The other day I woke up and my baby was sleeping with her head on my chest..I didn't feel her move to that position, but my heart just melted when I woke up to it.
