Mother's Day Confession

My favorite part of the day is Little Guy's bedtime. He's getting kinda big, but I still like to rock him for several minutes in his rocking chair before I put him in his crib. Within a couple weeks, we're going to start transitioning him to a new room with a "big boy bed" and no rocking chair.

Sometimes I think about the day when he will be too big to hold in my lap anymore. It makes me really sad to think about it and I usually start crying.

Shit, I'm crying now.

I don't want him to grow up.

When the new baby came ... Becca became so big, so mature, so grown up!

Cherish those little moments really ... They are so worth it!

I always rock my babies/kids until they move to a big bed. It is sad to give up that time, but you'll have a new one to rock very soon!

And now when I put my big kids to bed, I lay in bed with them for a while before they fall asleep. It's a precious time too. :-)

Two of the great-granddaughters look down on me (literally) and the third is catching up fast. Where does the time go?

Thank you for your kind words. We're hanging in and each day is a little better than the one before.

My boy is 5 and he still likes an occassional rocking...so don't fret too much yet!

When my second little boy was born, all of a sudden my oldest looked HUGE. But he was really still so very small. Just hold him for as long as he'll let you and enjoy the moment.

Have you read that children's story "Love You Forever?" I love it, she sneaks into her sons house and rocks him when he falls asleep at night. haha, it's a really cute story. We've started getting theBeast in her own bed and out of ours, but sometimes we're bad and put her in our bed because we miss her :)

Just so you know . . . they are never too big to cuddle with their mommas!

Hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day!

Good advice all around.

Flip Flop Mama: I bought that book and could only read a couple times. I love it but it makes me cry every time!

They are never too old to be rocked... unless they are fighting you off with a stick. I rock/hold my almost-4yo whenever he asks, and cherish those moments. They are almost more special now that little brother is here, because they are rare and we're not just doing it out of habit. Don't feel like you have to say good-bye to Little Guy and his babyhood. Things will be different, but he'll always be your baby. xoxo.

Ohhhh. I know what you mean. (Sniff) I feel that way too. Though its comforting to know that at least until they're about 10 or so, those little boys think their mama is the most wonderful, pretty, mommy "eber!"

Wow, you are really on a roll all of a sudden, MotR. Please don't think about abandoning us just before Baby II. We MUST at least get a picture of the next little guy.
