Deep Thought for Wednesday

Ah motherhood. I loooooove being a mom. Seriously. It's the best thing I've ever done in my life!

However, it also makes me want to regularly throw back a few shots of tequila around 4pm. I know you know what I'm talkin about.

Speaking of which, I find it ironic that the time in my life that I am most in need of an adult beverage is also the only time in my life that I cannot consume said beverage (thank you breastfeeding).

Why is nature so cruel? Why?

Got that right. Coffee...oh, sweet coffee. (of course, I'm sipping a cup now despite the breastfeeding)

I feel like I had just found "my drink" right around the time that I got pregnant with Sam. Between pregnancy and nursing for the past...crap, more than THREE YEARS...I haven't even gotten to enjoy my discovery.

Weeeeell, I breastfed my girls for 20 months and 18 months respectively. I am happy to say that despite the occasional Mich Ultra and Latte, both girls are thriving. Treat yourself.

I enjoy an occasional wine after my 4 month old son goes to bed and it is so nice.

I don't see the harm in a little drink now and then especially if you drink lots of water and cup or two of Nursing tea in the morning.

My son, just had his 4mth check up and he is in the 97 percentile for wght and hght so the wine has not slowed my milk production by any means.

I did not drink w/ my first, but after having two kids I have laxed.

Wow. 4 o'clock? That's late enough for tequila! I find myself looking at the clock around noon...

I was totally referring to alcohol when I wrote this post, but I do miss caffeine as well *sigh* My idea? A yummy coffee drink spiked with alcohol. Best of both worlds :)

Anyways, yeah, I think I will treat myself now and then. Thanks for the encouragement, ladies! I promise not to go overboard.

And lildb, I am embarrased to admit that I don't even know what Twitter is. I mean, I get these emails that people are following me on it, but I don't know how I even got on Twitter. I hear it is loads of fun but a total time suck. I am scared to go to the site, if only because I can't take one more Internet addiction.

I love it when moms are REAL about motherhood! I also adore my children and feel so lucky to be their mom, but you will not catch me telling people that I love the summertime so that we can all be together again :0

I wasn't a breastfeeder, so please keep that in mind when I chime in here, but really, aren't we trying to build immunity here? From virus to disease for our little ones? And from frat parties and prom nights in the later years. We need to prepare our children for ALL occassions. So it souunds like you practically OWE your baby some booze.

Wow, I've taken an Ambien and had a beer before I wrote this. Please disregard 79% of what I wrote. Up to you to determine the meaningful part :-).

Glad you're hanging in there!

I've heard the baby only gets 2% of the alcohol that you drink through breastfeeding. Then again, the person who told me that was a total lush, so, um, I dunno.
