Party Time

I'm going to take a little break from posting for the weekend because I'm busy planning a shindig for a certain someone who's turning one on Saturday. I'm not going to say who the party is for, but I will say that his initials are L.G. and that I've posted about him before.

Here's the low-down on the party:

Theme: race cars, Dora the Explorer, blue

Place: Our House

Invitees: 30 of our closest family and friends, including 5 one-year-olds. (Yikes! 5 one-year-olds? What was I thinking?)

Weather Forecast: 109 degrees (aka, hotter than hell)

Activities: cake eating, present opening, and baby oogling

Here's hoping for lots of fun and an air conditioning system that doesn't break down. Wish me luck!

Oooh, sitting in water is fun....

...but Mommy, this thing is kinda chintzy. What happened to my Target Splish Splash Fantasy Pool?

The best thing about a baby? That pool is JUST fine - anything with splashy water? Just Fine.

Thanks for all the well wishes, guys! Just so you know, this is a "pool" my Aunt bought Little Guy to play in when he's at my parents house.

The Splish Splash Fantasy Pool is alive and well at our house. I'm sorry if I scared anyone. :)

Happy birthday and happy party to the cutie punkin!! You can do it - we had five (or so) one year-olds in the living room of a 2BR apartment for Tacy's first birthday. And lots of beer and wine.

what did happen to the pool? oh wait... hahaha... just read the comment above! and when did your son start sitting? Nut is four m onths and has no inclination to start anytime soon so i dobt buying a pool would be a good idea, espcially since my loser A$$ can't find a damn job.

Just frustrated... and it's 105 in Metropolis. :(

but a happy birthday to you know who!!

Great Day: I still can't believe that our babies were born on the same day! Happy Birthday to Kathryn too!

Peanut's Mom: I think my son started sitting at about 6 months. BTW, in case you're interested...I think my aunt got this pool at Rite Aid. Do you have those where you live? It was pretty cheap, though I think that goes without saying. I mean, his little butt barely fits in it! lol

yayyy! I'm so happy for you, C. can't wait to hear how it went. wish I lived closer so I could aid in bringing the total number of 1- and nearly 1-year-olds to six. 'cause there's safety in numbers. just keep that in mind tomorrow. you may wish to chant it. or anything, for that matter, as long as it helps keep you sane.

try to not stress out and just have fun! you deserve some. you've been through a hell of a year.

*screaming so excitedly that if I typed it out, it would scare you*

That is THE most adorable tiny pool I have ever seen. How do they make such cool things for kids now? All I remember having was one of those stupid plastic wading pools that would get a crack after 3 uses.

Good luck with the party.

Wahoo, pool party for one! I imagine him saying "Yah, babe, that's a nice bikini. I like the way your butt looks in your swimming diaper. I'd invite you in, but I've only got room for me."
