We Interrupt this Program...

We interrupt this program to bring you a series of random questions.

1) Have any of you heard of a website called The Imperfect Parent? If so, do you like it?

2) Anyone been contacted by them recently to blog for their site? If so, are you considering it?

3) Do you think that 1:30pm on a Monday is too early to start drinking? Uh. Wait. Don't answer that.

4) Anyone care to toast the end of summer with me?

All I know is Kvetch had a piece published online here:

http://www.imperfectparent.com/articles/articles266_1.php

I couldn't really find any About section just a lot of links to different subjects.

This coud be very, very exciting.

(Do you have any cheese and ers to go with the bubbly? I'm feeling a little peckish.)

3:36 PM
Blogger Unknown said...

Does that say cheese and ers? *%#*$ Cyber Sitter. Let's try that again: Do you have any cheese and not-a-form-of-a-white-powdered-illegal-drug-ers but some wheat-based, thin, flattish substenance to go with the bubbly?

Blogger Cristina said...

Yes, I was invited to blog for them, but wasn't sure how they found me.

*oh, how rude of me, excuse me while I pour you each a drink*

So, anyway, I hadn't heard of their site before today, but it looks like a nice parenting resource from what I've seen so far.

I have heard about it and they do a lot of parenting essays, articles, etc. I'm sure it's a legit site. I think a few bloggers have written for them. Do you get paid?

I had an essay on IP just last week (http://imperfectparent.com/articles/articles266_1.php) and I've submitted more.

I think it's a great site - easy to read and navigate.

I would love a blogging gig there -- way to go!!!

If you have children, and one like mine, I don't think 1:30 is too early to start drinking. In fact, sometimes, I think it might be too late! heehee.

I checked out that site you linked. Pretty cool. Love that they have a MILF news section. heehee

I don't hink I could stay awake after a drink that early...but I will make it up to you tonight. Promise.

Well, it's 5:00 somewhere is my motto. ;-)

I'm FREAKING OUT though about the Imperfect Parent site! I knew the girl who owns that site. I remember when she was starting it. We lost tough, but I just emailed her. Hilarious!!!!!

Blogger Musings of a Housewife said...

Um, make that, "we lost TOUCH". Sorry, that cosmopolitan (or two - it is 11pm here, btw, not that I have to explain my 2 cosmos, haha!) is affecting my typing fingers. *grin*

8:06 PM
Blogger Cristina said...

Dcrmom: That's neat that you know the founder of the site. I'd ask you to pass me a cosmo, but I don't want to mix my drinks. :)

I think drinking on a Monday is totally appropriate. And well-deserved.

Tangent: that picture reminded me of a former coworker who would yell out, "It's beer-thirty!" every Friday.

My kids have been back in school for a few weeks, but I'm ALWAYS down for a toast.

No but you peaked my curiosity.

Blogger Andrea said...

I've only heard of them through Kvetch. And Kristen at Motherhood Uncensored put a link up about them looking for bloggers. Sounds awesome! I only wish I had your luck. Sigh. Maybe someday.

Cheers! Tipping my Coke (it's Tuesday morning back at work, so no drinking, though I wish it had some Captain Morgan in it) to you!

7:16 AM
Blogger MM said...

Sure, sure and sure. Actually, I'd love to submit, but I'm having a crises of worthiness. Let me know what you think...

PS-I've been by several times and I can't get over how cute this pad is...

Blogger carrie said...

I looked at that site and it seems interesting. But, does that mean that you wouldn't have your lovely blog here? Because I heard that you can't use blog entries...

But, whatever you decide, good luck, and Cheers (by now, it is past noon everywhere!).

Carrie

Just checked the site now. Looks pretty cool. I'd write for them if they asked.

And since it's already Tuesday now (and since I had to write for work I couldn't check blogs until now...) I'll raise a drink in honor of your virtual hangovers.

(Hope no one had one, though... they're nasty.)

Blogger Gingers Mom said...

Wait...let me run and get a glass! Ah hell, who needs a glass when you can chug it right out of the bottle?

2:17 PM
Blogger Unknown said...

I haven't heard of them! The only folks I have contacting me are those who type "moldy boobs" into Google (I AM the #1 link...)

4:18 PM
Blogger Cristina said...

Petite Mommy: no pay :( but maybe a stipend in the future.

Kvetch: awesome that they published you. you should contact them about doing the blogging thing. Heck, they obviously already love your writing!

Lisa: yes, any site with a MILF section is OK in my book too!

Amber: you are funny, you DotMama you! I have a feeling there are a few more people than moldy boob seekers who have sought you out (even though I happen to have found you when searching for moldy boobs, lol).

Merry Mama: thanks for visiting! I think you should definitely submit something. Go for it!

Carrie: I'd be able to keep my blog, but it would mean that I wouldn't have as much time to post on this blog, which is the thing that is holding me back a bit. I love writing on this blog so it would be hard to split my time.

Kristin: you lush, you! Now hand me the bottle!

5:30 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

I'd never heard of the site but think I will submit something. Now I'll lie down with a nice Gin and Tonic and toast a drink with you.

I wish I could join you in your celebration of summer ending, but I'm totally bummed about it. Then again, I live in a place where summers never get above 85 at its hottest. And winter lasts 3/4 of the year. Ah, hell, I'll drink with you anyway.
