It’s just that your bladder is not meant to be squeezed out by your uterus. It’s just not.

12:00am wake up to pee
2:00 am wake up to pee
3:30 am wake up to pee
4:30 am wake up to pee
5:30 am wake up to pee (false alarm)
6:30 am wake up to pee

I’m not above wearing an adult diaper to bed. It may have to come to that.

Edited to add: Special note to all you preggos out there! I just learned something interesting. If you drink MORE water during the day, you'll actually pee less at night. It's working for me. I now only pee about every hour and a half to two hours. Woo-hooo!

Oh man that sounds hideous. You must be exhausted. Have you thought about sleeping on the toilet, just to save time? I wonder if you can get recliner toilets.

That's how I was during my whole pregnancy with the Beast. The ob said that once she got bigger and moved out of my pelvis that the pressure would get off my bladder. Nope. She stayed low the whole time, and I had to pee every hour for 9 whole months. Sometimes I was close to tears because I just did not want to get up one more time to pee!! So far so good with this one.

I do hope for you though, that eventually the pressure will get off your bladder...until the last couple months anyway...when there's just no more room in there.

WOW. That is a LOT of going to the bathroom. How are you sleeping? I would be awake all night if I got up that much. Just another fun thing about pregnancy, huh?

My wife had that same schedule...through three kids! The only difference was...she was so sick for the full 9 months...every time...that she would have to pee and puke each time. Sadly, sometimes at the same time.

Since my memories of such things are not so distant yet, I say wear the Depends! Seriously...the value of a good nights sleep should never be underestimated, especially when you have a little one :)

otherbear: sleeping on the toliet...not a bad idea :)

Flip Flop: yeah, they say it gets better in the 2nd trimester but I was just reading on BabyCenter that that is a myth. For many women it lasts the whole time.

Nicole: luckily, I usually fall right back to sleep after I go back to bed. If not for that, it would truly be torturous!

Em: your wife is a saint. A saint! To have 3 kids with m/s that bad, for that long. I can't even fathom it. And then to have to get up to pee AND puke. I have no words to express how completely I admire your wife for going through that three times.

I was at that point when Gabe and I finally changed sides of the bed so I could be closer to the bathroom.

THAT is romance.

Oh, I'm so sorry. I've been waking up and sometimes I just roll over and make myself wait because I don't want to get all cold!

The joys of pregnancy. I think we are on the same schedule. My daughter is sitting very low in there and it makes it more difficult to get comfortable. I think it is actually a bit harder to get up too. The worst part about this pregnancy though is that not only do I have your schedule for peeing, I also have a schedule in between for puking. Even now that I am over half way through it I am still ever so sick. And I am desperatly trying to gain a pound or two for my obgyn. I think to date I have only gained 2 pounds this whole pregnancy. That's horrible.

Yea, ya know what? May not be a horrible idea.

I used to feel the same way and even thought about sleeping in the bathroom just to save me the effort. Sucks :sigh:

I remember those days, I'm totally with you on the depends. I was desperate for sleep when I was pregnant, I thought if I peed one more time I was going to lose my mind.

Isn't that supposed to stop soon, and not return until the end of your pregnancy???

Oh, I hope so, for your sake, you poor thing!

Does your son have a potty chair you could stash next to your bed? Kidding - hope you didn't laugh at that...

You know... there's something to be said for not having to get out of bed, put the seat down (because its always lifted) and then when finished get back into bed and try to get comfortable again... So adult diapers? Why the hell not?

Yeah...that is awful. Hang in there. After 3 babies I may have to take to wearing adult diapers all the time...just in case I sneeze. Hee hee.

Consider it conditioning. When Baby II wakes you up every two hours you'll be used to it.

I was exactly the same way. And I considered the diapers. Especially since I was peeing like 3 drops at a time.

I feel for you, sister.

Hmm...depends don't really sound like a bad idea. Maybe you SHOULD try it. I have to tell you though...one time when we were on a trip when my son was young..I had to go SOOOOO bad and I took one of my son's diapers and tried to put it between my legs and pee in it...but FOR THE FREAKING LIFE OF ME, even though my bladder was so huge it was BRUISING things around it with its force....I could NOT let myself pee. It just wouldn't come out....so I wonder if it would work if you even did it...I know, I'm weird. :)

I liked the other bear's suggestion..sleeping on the toilet? Oh man, oh man...
I remember what that was like. Here's hoping your uterus leaves your bladder alone very soon!

LOL. I was like that with Julia. We lived in a two-storey then and I made 8 trips up and down the stairs one night...that's 16 times up and down 16 stairs. I considered just sleeping beside the toilet at one point.

Go for the diaper.

I remember those days. And inevitably when I did wake up to pee, I would be thirsty, and I knew that drinking the water would just make me have to pee again. Hang in there!

I think your theory might be right. I'm at 29 weeks right now and holding steady at two times a night to pee and I drink at least 64 ounces of water a day in addition to other fluids. I just try to taper off by around 8pm and then go right before bed.

Seriously, getting a catheter during labor was one one of my happiest moments. Someone needs to develop a temporary one for the long nights of pregnancy!
