Meltdowns and Merry Christmases

Have you ever seen a grown woman cry?

Yes? Well, of course you have.

How about a grown woman blogger? Have you ever seen a grown woman blogger cry while composing a blog post? It is a very sad sight indeed.

But when you've spent over an hour writing a post and you are very close to hitting publish when you somehow DELETE the entire post accidentally. And you can't find an "undo" button to get the post back and you frantically look to Blogger Help for a shortcut key for the "undo" button and then you find one (eureka!) only to try it and find out it doesn't work and you realize that your entire post is lost forever - the post you slaved over for way too long, tweaking every word and every picture to perfection.

Well, when something like this happens, it's OK to cry right? Plus, you might just be a bit hormonal...

I hope it's OK, because last night I shed a little tear, in frustration, over my stupid lost blog post. And this, dear friends, is a sign that it's time for me to take a little break from posting. Plus, it's the holidays and it's slow around the blogosphere anyway. I'll be back to posting after the New Year and, in the meantime, I am going to try to visit and comment a bit more - something I haven't had much time for in the last week or so.

So, with that, I'll leave you all with a special holiday greeting from someone we all know and love. Because when I'm feeling a little blue, there's nothing like a picture of David Hasslehoff in his undies that really turns that frown upside down, kwim?

***************
May you and your families all have a wonderful holiday season and a very Happy New Year!

Been there, done that, cried a river. I learned the hard, hard, hard way, to compose my posts in word first. If that happens again, you can use CTRL Z on your pc. I never knew that until recently.

Merry Christmas!

I think the old statement needs to be revised for this generation, instead of "No use crying over spilled milk."
It should be "No use crying over deleted posts." What do you think? Because who is off the computer long enough to spill milk anymore? *lol*

Blogger Celebrate Woo-Woo said...

Kyla's got some good ideas and is quite right about not having time to spill milk...although if I did spill milk, I would still cry because it would be all over my keyboard.

After one too many times of that happening (because the recreations are never as good as the original finalized version), posts are composed outside of blogger, usually wordpad, and then pasted in, never deleted from the wordpad until I've seen the published version on my blog;>

I fear the Hoff, even more so now that I have that image in my head. Um, nice package there Hoff.

And I've lost posts too. There is little that is more frustrating than slaving over an entry only to have the mighty internet wipe it away. I've learned to always copy everything before hitting Publish or Save.

Anyhoo, I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and Santa brings you the inspiration to try to write that post again.

All: I will begin composing my posts in Word from now on before I upload them. I should have been doing that all along (duh). Live and learn!

Suebob: I will try to find out what font it is. I picked it out so I think I have a record of the name. I'll try to get it to you.

Nothing says "Happy Holidays" like The Hoff! UGH! I now have that frightening image burned into my brain! Why, Hoff, why the banana hammock? UGH!

7:17 PM
Blogger Cristina said...

LMAO at "banana hammock". Ewwwwww!!!

p.s. I, too, thought it was hilarious that both Catherine and I had chosen to wish bloggers a Merry Christmas by posting a pic of the Hoff. I actually almost posted the exact picture she did. It was between this one and that one. The one she posted was less hairy and less, um, banana hammocky, but yet still hilarious in a freaky Christmas nightstalker kinda way.

p.p.s. Happy New Year everyone!
