Thinking Positive
Question: How do you know when something really GREAT is about to happen to you?
Answer: When you come home from work to find out that your cat has been shitting and pissing in the corner of your cedar-lined closet. On top of your dry-clean only bag of dirty clothes. For what looks like a good three days.
Why is this a good thing? Because I just know that all my karma debts have been cashed out on this one. And then some. So I figure something really GREAT is gonna happen to me to make up for this, right?
I say it's time to buy a lottery ticket.
(And a litter box.)
The culprit. He looks innocent enough.

See, that's what I love most about you, C. You see the silver lining in vivid technicolor. Me?? Not so much with cats. Soooo sorry about your cedar-lined closet. My heart breaks for you.
*lol* Wow, I'd hate to see what Karma is going to do to your cat after that.
And also, tell me what numbers you're choosing for the lotto, you have enough good karma coming to you that there should be enough for both of us. :)
I love that you haven't strangled that cat yet.
Karma is totally on your side.
It's a uniquely feling trait that they can look completely innocent and totally adorable even knowing they have done something heinous.
I recently discovered that our youngest cat has absolutely destroyed the bottom of my son's boxspring. It is shredded to ribbons. At the moment of discovery, he just looked at me and cocked his head like "Huh. I wonder who could have done that?"
Yeah. You and Karma are square.
Gorgeous kitty. Don't kill him.
Kids and pets alike have to adopt that cute, innocent look in order to keep us on their side;>
It's the old, "Things Can Only Get Better" school of thought and is the very same thing I told the cable man when he showed up here the other day and my dogs jumped all over him, covering him with muddy footprints.
His ship was sure to come in!
Oh No!!! Is the cat sick?!?! Poor closet and clothes!!
Make sure to buy that lottery ticket!
I have a cat that will pee on my bed if I mistakenly let him in my bedroom. Where does that put me on the karma scale? Probably not as high as you and your poor dry cleaning and cedar closet.
Buy extra lottery tickets! I think it's your turn for some good stuff to happen.
Aww. . .he's such a cutie though!
Thanks for visiting my blog yesterday. :)
Ewwww..I bet that didn't smell pretty!
OMG. Tooo funny. your comment not the fact the cat did that.
Yes go right to the store and pick up a lotto ticket.
Awww, he looks so sweet. Like he's saying "Who, me? I have no idea what you're talking about!"
Definitely buy that ticket. Poor kitty must either be feeling sick or really pissed at you about something. Ahhh, I love animals!
Thank you for not photographing the karma at work. ;)
Oh yea.....My cat's had it commin to him for QUITE a while. That innocent look is fading......
Funny enough he's black and white just like yours....only short hair, and his name, is fitting: Monster. Bastards! They are SO lucky they are cute!
When I wanna get back at him I just "ignore" it when Allie starts happily pulling his fur out. oops!
I love that attitude :^)
kill the cat
And it is SO hard to get that cat piss smell out of your house. Poor thing.
This is why I am a 'dog' chick.
our cat got locked in our daughters closet for 2 days and completely ruined a bag of keepsake hand knitted clothes and a beautiful hand quilted blanket.
Good luck, maybe the dry cleaner can get the smell out?
You should have taken a picture of and sumbitted an entry to Stuff On My Cat.
Cute kitty.
I thought your cat decided to live down the street. Did he come back?
You could look at it this way: at least it was dirty clothes ready for dry cleaning. It could have been on already cleaned clothes.
Good luck with that stain.
definitely due for something good.
er...and yuck.
Andrea: Yeah, he ended up coming back after being gone for a few weeks. Actually, I kind of kidnapped him. I saw him outside near our neighbor's yard one day and captured him and brought him back against his will. He hid under our bed for several hours until he fled the house that evening. We thought he might run away again, but he started coming back at night to eat and eventually he set back into his old patterns.
The problem is that our cat has always been really scared of everything. And when we got a dog, our cat freaked out and really hasn't been the same since.
It's a long and probably boring story but basically, our cat is holed up in our room during the day while our dog is in the house, and then at night, the dog sleeps in the garage and the cat gets free reign to come and go as he pleases at night. Usually, this is when our cat goes OUTSIDE to do his business. This has worked for the last 3 years but now this.
I think we're just going to have to get a litter box as a back up plan. I really don't want to give him back to the pound. Maybe that's selfish, but I feel responsible for him.
I found out earlier today that he peed again - this time on my sweatshirt and TWO pairs of my knee length boots.
Anyway, I feel bad for kitty but REALLY bad for my boots and my poor silk sweaters.
*wow this comment was like 5 times longer than my actual post!
Yeah he likes innocent...
Like he is ready to poop in your favourite boots innocent!
Poop n Boots...
That's what that look looks like to me...
Cristina,
I thought your kitty ran away? Is he the same one? He looks cute enough but damn....what a bad little kitty....
ALWAYS gotta look for the silver lining. Well done.
(KE-yooooot kitty!)
Wait, is he the one who ran away?
Wow, you all have some awesome memories. Yes, this is the kitty who ran away. See my novel-length comment to Andrea above if you want to know more...
Awwwww...but he's sooo cute!
Carrie
And that's why I refuse to get any pets until both my kids are potty trained! I can only handle cleaning up so much feces each day. Sorry for you. Big hug from me. Yes, go buy that lottery ticket!
I would say so......that is alot of pissing.......good luck with that.
Oh no. Thats some serious Karma debt my friend. I dont't think I'd be as good at looking at the silver lining.
But he is so darn cute...how could you be mad at that kitty face :)
Mine shit on the bed three minutes after it was freshly made out of the laundry. So...I suppose it could be worse? I do like your optimistic perspective!
Ewww...that's something my asshole cats would do.
That cat looks sooo much like my cat it's remarkable. Then I read the entry and when I saw that cat had been shitting and pissing on your dry cleaning I realised it actually must be my cat, because that is totally the sort of weird behaviour ours has! The worst ours ever did was get up on my bed, while I was in it, and wee on me. Yuck.
theotherbear: Oh goodness. Well, I think that weeing on you while you're in bed takes the cake. That is one daring cat!
Wow. You are a much nicer person than I am. I would have grabbed kitty by the neck used her to wipe up that mess! (Ok. No not really. But I would have FANTASIZED about it. And then I would have made an appt to get her declawed as a little payback kitty karma.)
How can you see the good in that indident, how?? I don't think I'd be thinking about karma right now, I'd be thinking, why do I have a cat again? But then I'm not much of a pet lover!
And to think I've just been turning a blind eye when my dog eats his own shit. I could've been picking it up and earning some Karma points!
PS - Can't wait to read the latest ROFL awards. Thanks for doing those, it's fun to read the funny!
So, what do you think he's trying to say to you? "Next time, get the Friskies or the clean dry cleaning's going down!"
well I read something that you might try for the oder.....crumpled up newspapers...put a bunch of them in the closet for a few days and shut the door. Hopefully it will help. BTW...it is a beautiful cat! lol
I got one one you...try under the dining room table!!! If my cat wasn't a senior citizen I'd kill him.
