So Screwed

It's July.

I'm 8 1/2 months pregnant.

And today my air conditioning broke.

But I guess I shouldn't worry too much. I mean, it's only going to be over 100 friggin degrees tomorrow and every day for the rest of this week.

In fact, I think Yahoo weather should forgo posting the actual degrees and simply post this picture of a firey ball of flames.

Cuz, yeah, it's gonna be hotter than hell this week.

And I have no air conditioning.

Did I say that already?

Oh man. I've had two babies in the summer and I'm a big whiner when I'm hot. I really feel for you. Eat lots of ice? Sit on a frozen bag of peas? Oh, I ate frozen blueberries, ya.

If you don't have a really, really cool stretch cotton baby sling yet, you should go to http://www.hipmelon.com . My friend Cathy makes THE best lux slings.

I've only read a few posts but now I'm excited to see how your labour goes!

Oh my - I feel your pain. My daughter was born in late August and I suffered that summer. (and I had air!) Try and stay cool somewhere. Go to a movie or the mall.

Funny story...that summer when I was pregnant, the district I work for declared an energy crisis and said that we could not lower our AC below 85 degrees in the room. 85 degrees with 20 stinky sweaty kids and a big pregnant me!!! They had boxes placed over the units and locked. I read the memo and then found a ruler and broke that box right off of the unit and turned it down to 65. I was a little worried about getting in trouble but I was more worried about melting away! As it turns out, I was never found out and I stayed cool, as long as I was in my room!

You. Are. Totally. Screwed.

I'm so sorry! I conveniently had both my Oops! pregnancies conceived in the summer months so that I birthed those babies in April and May. It was still hot doing the nursing thing, etc., but I was relieved to be done while it was still comfortable outside.

I will be doing a cold-snap dance for you!!!!

Oh, no. That happened to me last week only (a) I live in Canada, and (b) I'm not pregnant.

I hope it gets fixed very, very soon!

You have my complete and total empathy. My oldest was born in Soutern Cal in Sept and the weather was in 100's for two weeks. It seriously sucked! My next two kids were born in Feb and March because I had learned from my mistakes.

Go see a nice air-conditioned movie.

Best Wishes,
Janice

Awwwww sweetie, I feel your pain!
Anything I can do???
(yeah I know useless offer right.....but I have to ask, I know how horrible it is to be about to pop and living with HOT weather, so I have to ask.)
I've checked the net and come up with 'Cooling Leg Gel' for pregnant women (from Body shop). It might not help too much or you might already have it hun.......but it's all I could find.
Hope your air con gets fixed soon sweetie.x

I have no decent words of wisdom or comfort, so all I can do is share my first thought after reading your post, which was..."That sucks!"

I know this pain. I was just about 8 months preggo in july, with the same heat, and we didn't own an AC. I hope it gets fixed soon, I know that kind of hell.

Oh, that is gonna be bad. Your welcome to come visit me, although we don't have central air, just a window unit. And I've already claimed the spot directly in front of the window unit. But, I might give it up for a pregnant lady.

Oh dude. The summer I had Oliver was the hottest summer on record in my area for a long time. It was BRUTAL. And when I hit 38 weeks, our central air crapped out.

I feel for you, girl. FEEEEEL for you. I'm sweating for you, even though I'm in Canada and it's 20 degrees outside and I'm thinking about going upstairs and putting a sweatshirt on.

*ducking*

Ugh. I don't have air conditioning and my upstairs bedroom is ridiculously hot. Especially when pregnant.

I'm sending you frozen hugs.

Oh, man. I am so sorry. I cannot even begin to imagine the hell you're in. If you don't feel like visiting Minnesota, it's pretty cool here in Wisconsin.

Stay cool!

Oh no! That sucks! I hate to be hot. I like the frozen blueberries idea. 'cept you'll have to rub them on yourself.

Since you're 8.5 months pregnant I think the only real solution is to find someone who really, really cares about you to sleep with an AC repairman on your behalf.
